Margie Langtip

I began painting later in life. I decided to join weekly classes so I could learn to paint the wonderful scenes of Australia. Scenes that I adore so much. I am inspired by the masters of Tom Roberts, Aurthur Streeton, Barbara Sutherland, Hans Heyson, Kevin Boucher, just to name a few.

I was never encouraged by my parents to continue with art studies while at school for various reasons even though I loved to paint in class and was rather successful. Life went on it’s own merry way and I was always artistic in the garden, sewing, and I completed studies in the art of cake decorating, where I made the floral sprays and everything else to do with cake decorating. I won First Prize in a couple of shows and second prize in one. I sold cakes and took orders for these and was a successful cake maker. Full time work then got in the way of any artistic flair. Presently I am painting various styles to gain further experience in various mediums and styles. My mentor, Kevin Boucher, paints perfect scenes of The Australian outback and bush. I aspire and are determined to paint as well as he, during my journey of discovery.

I am married with two adult sons. I have worked all my life and have been very independent for most of it. I am an optimistic person with likeable qualities. I am honest and friendly with a passionate drive to paint. I have my own beautiful glass ceiling studio where I can go and be undisturbed and go away into the zone of painting.
