My name is Barbara Swadling and I am a wife, a mother of 4 and a Nana to 8.
Back in the Dark Ages, I did my certificate of Graphic Design at Perth Technical College. I worked at UWA doing cartography and then for Winjana Galleries framing and screen-printing. After that life, marriage and children became more important.
Eventually I worked in the Middle East teaching small children where art and crafts played a big role. I did a lot of art display work for the school as well.
I returned to Australia and eventually moved to Bindoon where I took up art again. I got three-quarters through my Cert. 4 in Visual Arts and Contemporary Crafts when TAFE pulled the plug on the course. Now I am quite happy to just “play and paint” with like-minded people and I enjoy experimenting with all modalities of Art.
