I have always enjoyed art but with work and raising a family haven’t really immersed myself until recently. I love attending workshops and seeing how others approach “art” with a mind to constantly stretching myself. Landscapes and animals seem to be my forte although I tend to choose the medium with which to paint once I have decided on the subject. I feel it gives freshness to my work and I’m constantly being challenged. I am currently working with oils and feel that it is highly under-rated and will be endeavouring to bring my animals more depth with this medium. I have been heavily involved in the Folk Art movement in Australia and consequently had learnt a lot of technical skills which I now apply to fine art. I am still trying to find my “style” and love exploring new mediums and subjects to paint. My work is represented in homes around Australia, Cayman Islands, Cocos Islands and Florida as my sea themes are popular there. In the past I have held the following positions in art groups:
Secretary of the Wanneroo Joondalup Art Society
President and Secretary of the Pastel Society of WA
President of the Folk Art Association of Victoria
Committee member of the Art Association of Nelson Bay

I paint purely for pleasure but as with all artists enjoy the buzz of exhibitions and having sales a bonus.
