Frank Seres, my father, was the producer of the TV show ‘Blood, Sweat & Tears, 200 Years of Australian Sport’. I remember he told me that the Australian women’s cricket league was set up in the late 1800’s. I thought a woman in her Sunday best playing cricket would be whimsical and fun.
Megan Seres is an emerging artist, living and working in Regional NSW. She attained a BFA (1st Class Honours) painting in 2004 from the National Art School, Sydney. In 2017 Megan was commissioned to do 4 large portraits of the founding women of Adderton House of Heart and Mercy Brisbane for the opening of the museum in 2018. Megan was the recipient of the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, Konica Redlands Art Prize and the Sydney Airport Prize. Selected art prizes include the Blake Prize, City of Whyalla Art Prize, Archibald Prize and more recently the Mosman Art Prize.
