This abstract artwork celebrates our community and the wonderful people who make a difference by bringing people from all walks of life together and help foster a sense of belonging.
Gitte Backhausen is Danish born Australian full time artist living on the South Coast of NSW. Largely known for her expressive abstract art she has a strong interest in psychology and the abstract expressionist movement. Gitte describes her art as a space for giving the subconscious mind freedom to express itself without the restrictions and demands of the mind and is a popular workshop facilitator with her workshop ‘Get out of your Mind and into your Art’. She has been a finalist in numerous art prizes, including Waverley Art Prize judged by Tim Olsen. Recently introducing assemblage art to her portfolio, she has been selected for a solo exhibition ‘Nuances of Life’ at the Shoalhaven Regional Gallery February-March 2018.
